All I remember is how much I loved the feeling, how I thought I might tremble myself into oblivion. How badly I wanted you to come back. How I didn’t care what the consequences were. I loved you, and I was young. I wouldn’t –couldn’t- believe the things they said. I was unwilling to face the cold truth about our love. I was… naïve.
In the beginning, we were just kids. We’d walk home together, your arm slung over my shoulders. As we walked, we spoke of and laughed about our troubles, the conversation ranging from teachers to pets, bullies to our mothers and fathers. I can almost hear

There was no debate or in-between. No human companion was insane, or merciful enough to take pity on the wretched being that had once been the sweet, soft spoken Dami. Love was in short supply, and nothing of the sort would be tossed in the direction of such a monstrous creature.
So he remained lonely, and was quiet about it. Nobody wanted to hear of the woes and troubles facing something that even vaguely resembled the likes of him. And so, a small portion of his childhood was returned to him: the silence of a shy, nine year old boy.
